Pilgrims Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has admonished Christian intending pilgrims to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Christ and the state during the pilgrimage exercise. The Professional Golfers’ Association of Nigeria (PGA) has dissociated itself from an alleged illegal Emergency General Meeting (EGM) scheduled to hold in Lagos on Tuesday. The Executive Director of the Association, Dr Tony Philmoore, said the planned meeting was unlawful and did not have the approval of the PGA’s recognised leadership structure. Philmoore said a competent court of law in Nigeria had ruled against the convening of the meeting, rendering it invalid and without legal standing. The Coalition Against Corruption and Bad Governance (CACOBAG) has faulted the implementation of the Federal Government’s new tax reform laws, describing them as anti-people and demanding their immediate suspension pending public review. Speaking at a press conference in, CACOBAG Chairman, Mr Toyin Raheem, said the tax reforms signed into law by President Bola Tinubu lacked transparency and were rushed through the National Assembly without adequate consultation. The Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Dr Bayo Adefuye, has urged residents to participate in the e-registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to validate their membership. He said that the registration will also allow them prepare ahead of the 2027 general elections.
